Production Video #3

Finally it's here with all its glory. Production video #3 was long enough that I decided to split it into two segments, the first one addresses Christina's thinking process and her approach to color, and in the second half she'll demo her painting process, I hope you all like it.

A new era

So I was told by many many people that I NEED so some sort of social networking to help me spreading the word, you know, cause blogs are old school and blah blah, so I started a twitter account for the short -I can't believe I'm typing these words- and it looks like it'll take me forever to wrap my head around it. Till then please check it out, follow, re-tweet, yada yada.

That I Learned 2.

"Do ANYTHING a day."
Anything you do on your short film brings you that much closer to the finish line, it doesn't matter how little or "insignificant" it is, just do it, a background painting, a pose, even a stroke, push yourself to do ANYTHING a day.
And just so I don't bore you with my blabber I would like to share with you a color script in progress. Hope you like it.

Exciting Updates and "That I learned"

Hello,
Just like the title of this post states I have a couple of exciting updates for you.
First of, the next production video "which is coming out soon" I will be showing some animation demo (moving from animatic to animation) and TVpaint workflow, Boom!!!
Second, aside from the "Production Video" section and the "Updates" section on this blog I will be adding a new section, I will call it  "That I learned!". In this section I'm going to post all the ideas, advice, and experiences I'm gaining while working on this project, who knows, some might find them helpful.
Last but not least "and most exciting" I officially HIRED the first artist on this project, yes, I'm paying a fellow artist to help me on Dirty Laundry Day, and it feels awesome. I'll keep the artist's name a secret for now but I promise you a "Production Video" specially for art and color soon, and "THAT I LEARNED" this week: Don't be a fool, "friendship" isn't always enough of a motivation for people to collaborate with you on YOUR personal project, so pay your fellow artists, period. It doesn't matter how much or how little, they're your friends and you can always discuss it with them and be honest with what you can pay them upfront, just be reasonable and respectful and you get yourself a mini team of artists that you like to work with, plus when you pay them you can review things with them without feeling bad about wasting their time right?

Thanks for checking in.

Another background done.

Hello followers,
I know I promised you a second production video, I assure you it's in the making, I just have to edit it. This weekend I decided to work on the cafe scene background. I realized it's gotten a VERY positive response on vimeo (Which is very flattering) and I tried to stay as close as possible to the original art. I hope you like it.
